Los Angeles, June 4, 80-5 (co - Mr.Frank Strong) 1943 I suggest you two gentlemen at once start preparation of data and lining up necessary witnesses for this hearing and I submit the following thoughts for your cons iderat ion? I believe an exhibit should be prepared by the Water Company containing information similar to that shown in Mr* Bracken’s letter of May 1 to the OoEmission enclosing a notice of cancelation of Rule 9-C, the exhibit to include any additional real estate developments and investments. You should then either arrange to have Mr. Folger make a detailed study of vacancies in these various developments or arrange to have the promoters of each development appear and testify with respect to these vacancies. It may be that in some instances they will not desire to do that and if you cannot secure commitments from them, suggest Mr, Folger make a personal study of this phase of the question and possibly prepare an exhibit showing the houses in each development, the number of completed vacant houses and the number of houses not ready for occupancy. This study should also include the Rancho Vegas subdivision and the gunnery school. In addition to this, the information should be brought down to date showing the number of employes at Basic with a chart prepared similar to that heretofore furnished of the decrease in number of such employes. The last chart, as I recall, was made some time ago and there may be some material changes to be made. Furthermore, I think the information contained in letter fro® the Basic Magnesium to me, copy of which you have, dated March 10 showing the number of the employes of B.M.I, should be brought down to date. It might be well also to check into the Boulder City housing situation as there may be a possibility of showing increased number of houses in the city proper as distinct from the various Basic town sites and camps.
