m 1 4 Los Angeles, November 27, 1942 d . Mr. Walter R. Bracken: In connection with our meeting with Mr. Guild today with respect to the possible over-building of real estate subdivisions at Las Vegas with the resulting vacancies and loss of revenue on investments made under Rule 9 (o): It seems to me the matter could be discussed with Commissioner Sexton after we have developed certain information looking towards either the abolition of the rule, the modification thereof to require that the homes must not only be constructed but must be sold, or a possible modification of the refund of 50 per cent of the cost of the public utilities installed at the time all of the houses are completed and the remaining 50 per cent on a prorata basis when the houses are sold. In order to submit this matter, I think we should develop the following information: (a) Separately the number of subdivisions constructed in Las Vegas and vicinity which are served by the water company under Rule 9 (c); (b) The number of houses in each subdivision; (c) The coat to the water company of the refunds for each of the subdivisions; (d) The vacancies in each subdivision as of a definite date; (e) The number of suitable houses built or being built at the Basic plant for use of the present McNeil crew or future employes of Basic; (f) The number of potential employes at Basic in order to ascertain the housing facilities required to take care of most of the employes. It might also be well to develop, if possible, as a matter of information, the number of W.H.J. fw. ro 1942
