    OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. OCTOBER 2nd, 1930. At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, held on the 2nd day of October 1930 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Present Mayor Hesse, Commissioners Thomas, and Smith together with the City Attorney and Clerk. Absent Commissioners German, and Hansell. Commissioner Smith was appointed by the Mayor to approve the bills of the finance officer owning to the absence of Commissioner German Finance Commissioner. All bills allowed as per Claims and Warrant register on file in the office of the Clerk. Monies received for the month of September as follows: $160.00 Municipal Court Fines. 1670.00 Licenses, fees, and sale of Cemetery lots. 1830.00 Total. Monies proportioned as follows: $1,076.00 Police and Fire Fund 650.00 Street Fund 60.00 Cemetery Fund 44.00 Water. Sewer Light Fund. 1,830.00 Mr. Ward, Mr. Flowers, Mr. Down, and Captain Griffin of the Salvation Army appeared before the Board at this time in regards to the carring for of the needy in the City at the present time, and ask that the Board of Commissioners donate a substantial sum toward the cause. City Attorney Stevens informed them that at the present time the City could not donate towards the fund as the only fund that the City could donate from was the Publicity Fund and at the present time that fund depleted, and would not be reimbursed until the City had received its share from the taxes in December. An Ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance for licensing and regulating the carrying on of certain businesses, professions, trades, callings, and occupations; fixing a penalty for the violation thereof; repealing ordinances of the City of Las Vegas, as follows: Ordinance No. 48, approved December 3, 1913, Ordinance No. 62 adopted December 1, 1915, Ordinance No. 74, adopte d March 5, 1919, Ordinance No. 75, adopted May 7, 1919, Ordinance No. 81, Adopted June 15, 1921, Ordinance No. 95, adopted September 6, 1922, Ordinance No. 102, approved November 26, 1923, and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith," was read to the Board for a first time, and laid over for a final reading. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting recessed until Tuesday October 7th at the hour of three o'clock P.M. At a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, held on the 7th day of October 1930 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Present Mayor Hesse, Commissioners Thomas, and Hansell, together with the City Attor­ney and Clerk. Absent Commissioners Smith, and German.
