Complaint - Southwestern Shipbuilding Co. Mr. T.P. Cullen, Supt., Los Angeles, Cal. Dear Sir: Confirming my advice by telephone: Mr. E. A. Mills, Manager, Southwestern Shipbuilding Co., advises that a Union representative makes a practice of riding our train No. 20 from Los Angeles each morning and tries to persuade the shipworkers who ride on that train to go on strike, the grievance being wholly a sympathy movement caused by a strike in one of the shipyards in San Francisco. If there is any way in which you can stop this practice after having it investigated by one of our special agents I will be glad to have you do so. I have talked with our General Attorney, who advises that if this man is annoying our passengers he can be restrained but otherwise sees no way by which action can be taken by the railroad.
