CITY ELECTION After canvassing the results of the election at a recessed regular meeting held May l5, 1951, it appears to the Board that the following candidates received a plurality of all votes cast for their respective offices, Commissioner Peccole moved that: C. D. Baker be and he is hereby declared to be the duly elected Mayor of the City of Las Vegas for the ensuing four years, and it is further resolved that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to issue a certificate of election to C. D. Baker. Reed Whipple be and he is hereby declared to be the duly elected Commissioner First Class of the City of Las Vegas for the ensuing four years, and it is further resolved that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to issue a certificate of election to Reed Whipple. Rex A. Jarrett be and he is hereby declared to be the duly elected Commissioner Third Class of the City of Las Vegas for the ensuing four years, and it is further resolved that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to issue a certificate of election to Rex A. Jarrett. Walter J. Richards be and he is hereby declared to be the duly elected Municipal Judge of the City of Las Vegas for the ensuing two years, and it is further resolved that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to issue a certificate of election to Walter J. Richards. Howard W. Cannon be and he is hereby declared to be the duly elected City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas for the ensuing two years, and it is further resolved that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to issue a certificate of election to Howard W. EMERGENCY ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION X OF ORDINANCE NO. 378, NO. 459 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCES NO. 381 AND 382 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE Zaugg Tract OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS CREATING ELEVEN (11) DISTRICTS, REGULATING AND RESTRICTING: THE USE OF LAND, THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS AND OTHER STRUCTURES THE PROVISION OF OPEN SPACES FOR LIGHT AND AIR; THE INTENSITY OF SUCH USES AND THE DENSITY OF POPULATION; ESTABLISHING BUILDING SETBACK LINES ADOPTING A MAP OF SUCH DISTRICTS DEFINING THE TERMS USED HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE ADJUSTMENT AND AMENDMENT THEREOF; REQUIRING THAT CERTAIN PERMITS SHALL BE SECURED FOR SUCH BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND IMPROVEMENTS AND FOR THE USE THEREOF, AND OF LANDS; REQUIRING CERTAIN FEES; PROVIDING THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH," AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read in full to the Board.
