BY CHANGING CERTAIN DEFINITIONS; FURTHER DEFINING CERTAIN SECTIONS; AND BY ADDING A NEW SECTION PROHIBITING DELIVERIES IN RESPONSE TO TELEPHONE CALLS, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, having been reported, on favorably by Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple, was read in full to the Board. Thereafter Commissioner Jarrett moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 483 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Com­missioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Floyd A. Davis, D & D Drive In, 520 North Main for a Restaurant Beverage license and the application of George, Ted and Chris Tsouras, Las Vegas Barbecue, 22 Fremont for a Restaurant Beverage license for the second quarter of 1952 be approved subject to investigation by the Police Depart­ment and effective May 1, 1952. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Action on the application of Tom O'Larey, Payless Drug Store, 215 Fremont for a Retail Liquor Minature license instead of a Retail Liquor license was held in abeyance until May 7, 1952. Commissioner Peccole moved that action on the request of Wells Cargo to release their performance bonds on Southridge Subdivision Tract Nos. 1 and 2 be deferred until next meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioners Bunker and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed amend­ments to the Solicitors, Peddlers and Itinerant Merchants Ordinances requested addition­al time before reporting. Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett, committee for recommendation on the proposed amend­ment to the Minor Ordinance requested additional time before reporting. Commissioners Bunker and Peccole, committee for recommendation on the proposed amend­ment to the Taxi Ordinance, requested addition time before reporting. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV, OF ORDINANCE NO. 378 ALSO RE­FERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE BI AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple for recommendation. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV , OF ORDINANCE NO. 378 ALSO REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bun­ker and Peccole for recommendation. Commissioner Peccole moved the following resolution be adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of North Las Vegas has Simon Perliter doing engineering work on the sewer project to connect with Las Vegas City sewer and are desirous of having him at the same time do the engineering on the settling tanks in connection therewith to be used by North Las Vegas and the City of Las Vegas, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas approve Simon Perliter for the engineering work and study in connection with said settling tanks at no cost to the City of Las Vegas. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commission­ers Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Bunker moved that the position of Special Inspector (Police Department) be created, that George Thompson be transferred to this position, and the classifi­cation of Captain in the Police Department be abolished. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commission­ers Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. A letter from Dora Lord, Administrative Assistant relative to the termination of em­ployees and payment of accumulated vacation and overtime, was read to the Board. Commissioner Bunker moved this matter be referred to the Civil Service Board for re­commendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Bunker moved the request of Aloysius McDonald for payment $550.00 for architect fees on the restrooms and garage in the City Park be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the warrant when prepared. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote:Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker.
