Las Vegas, Nevada March 7, 1950 A regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held this 7th day of March, 1950 was called to order by His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple at the hour of 3:35 P.M. with the following members present: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole; City Attorney Howard W. Cannon, Acting City Manager W. C. Anderson and City Clerk Shirley Ballinger. Absent: Mayor Cragin. PAYROLL WARRANTS Commissioner Moore moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 1111 to 1113 inclusive in the net sum of $25,664.15 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. CRANER TRAILER COURT At this time Mrs. S. W. Craner and Miss Helen Craner appeared before the Board relative to the reported unsanitary condition of their trailer court located at 129 South 7th Street. His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple read the report of A. B. Angel, Plumbing Inspector. Miss Helen Craner told the Board that they did not feel they could afford to make the necessary changes to bring the court up to the City Code at this time. Commissioner Peccole moved that Mrs. Craner be given thirty days to get her trailer court in order to conform with the City Code, otherwise the license will be revoked. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. BID NO. 50.3 This being the time for the opening of Bid No. 50.8, regular gasoline for the City of Las Vegas, bids were opened from the following firms: Union Oil Co. Standard Oil Co. Independent Oil Co. Richfield Oil Co. Tidewater Associated Joe Cardinal Signal Oil Co. Texas Company Shell Oil Co. Wilshire Oil Co. Commissioner Moore moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Comptroller for tabulation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. BID NO. 50.9 This being the time for the opening of Bid No. 50.9, Motor Oils for the City of Las Vegas, bids were received from the following firms: Union Oil Co. McQuay Supply .Co. Independent Oil Co. Texas Company Signal Oil Co. Joe Cardinal Shell Oil Co. Standard Oil Co. Commissioner Moore moved the foregoing bids be rejected and new invitations to bid be sent specifying the type of motor oil the City wants bids on. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. Commissioner Moore moved these rejected bids be returned to the bidders. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. BID NO. 50.10 This being the time set for the opening of Bid No. 50.10, Kerosene, Cleaning Solvent, Stove Oil and Diesel Oil, bids were received from the following firms: Associated Oil Co.. Martin & Moore. Union Oil Co. Signal Oil Co. Western Heating & Ventilating Shell Oil Co. National Ice Company Richfield Oil Co. Joe Cardinal Texas Company Commissioner Moore moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Comptroller for tabulation and recommendation.
