As to the pencils in question, our records clearly show that 36 which was the quantity ordered, were included in shipment made from here by express May 17. We accordingly charged you for the entire lot. To avoid delay, made back order from your requisition and sent an additional 24 by parcel post on July 7 for which you will also be charged. If you were actually short as you claim, some report should have been made prior to this date and if package in which this stationery was received, was in a damaged condition, you should have made claim against the Express Company for item short?
