Satlt jtak© City, lkUS*V' 26th, 1913. Inspection of land near Milford and Manix: Mr. H. C. Mutt, General Manager, Los Angeles. Lear Sir: I have received and noted your joint letter May 22nd, and enclosures, relating to Prof. Merrill*s recent examination of proposed irrigation projects near Milford and Hanlx* Am very glad to hear that there is a prospect of a very successful irrigation project in the vicinity of Milford* There appears to be some doubt about the one at Manix being successful on account of lack of water, but I not© what Mr .Merrill says about successful irrigation being conducted by puraping plants. This reminds me to inquire what success is being met with in putting down wells and irrigating land in the vicinity of Las Vegas. I understood some time ago that a very large flow of water had been struck southwest of Las Vegas, and it occurs to me to inquire if they ever put any considerable amount of land under cultivation. I presume the idea is to irrigate land in the-vicinity of Manix in somewhat the same manner, providing the water can be obtained. Cy to Mr.J.Boss Clark^
