CANYONv' .PARK. APA1TMENT FIFTY-FIRST AT NORTH HARVEY OKLAHOMA CITY 18, OKLAHOMA 5400 North Harvey, Apt. A July 26, 1963 , Dear Al: We wanted to drop you this note to let you know how much we enjoyed our honeymoon in the "Sultan?╟╓s Boudoir" at 240 Santa Anita and the many courtesies extended to us while there. We were overwhelmed with the accommodations and the service. Although we stayed at such places as Holiday Inn and Best Western Motels enroute and return home, at no place did we get such good coffee or such good service as at the Sands. The man who roomed us, the young man who checked us in, the men who delivered our breakfast, coffee, ice--all were especially clean and courteous and helped to make our stay more pleasant. Harry, the bartender, and the men operating the tables in the Casino were kind and helpful to two amateurish small-time gamblers and with their help we really had a ball which proved not too expensive. We don?╟╓t want to overlook favorable comment about the cashiers who were kind enough to take our checks and which we hope have not yet bounced. We very much enjoyed the dinner show at the Sands and had the pleasure the following day of introducing ourselves to Paul Anka who we ran into at the pool. He introduced us to his lovely French bride. We told him he had converted us to f ans. Eloise was disappointed during the first 2500 miles of our trip because I did not get arrested for speeding, but fortunately for her the day was saved when I got stopped a hundred miles from home on the return trip by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for driving 80 in a 70 mile zone. The Patrolman was delighted to learn that we old people were honeymooning and so did not give me a ticket but the incident gave Eloise the final "touch" to a most wonderful visit to the Sands "Honeymoonland." We hope some time soon you will be in Oklahoma City and will contact us so we might in some small way reciprocate. We are looking forward to the arrival in Oklahoma City of Chief of Police Leo Kuykendall and his family bo we can spend some additional time with him. We have already started saving our "dimes" in hopes we can again visit the Sands in the not distant future. Sincerely Eloise and \Jq>hn Calvin Rice
