Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole, and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. Additional time was requested by the committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the sign ordinance. Commissioner Bunker, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance to adopt the Building Code, requested additional time before reporting. Commissioner Bunker, a member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance amending the Civil Service Ordinance requested additional time before reporting. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 16, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, AS AMENDED, BY PROHIBITING THE SALE OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS WITHIN FOUR HUNDRED (400') FEET OF ANY CHURCH, Was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Peccole for recommendation. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 304 ENTITLED: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LaS VEGAS CREATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES,": BY ADDING CERTAIN DESCRIBED AREAS TO FIRE ZONES TWO AND TWO SPECIAL (2's) BY PROVIDING FIRE ZONES FOR REZONED AREAS; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Peccole for recommendation. Commissioner Bunker moved that action on the report of the City Attorney on the Dawson Property at 720 Shadow Lane be held in abeyance until Commissioner Jarrett is present. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Albert and David Mengarelli for renewal of license for 1 Slot' machine at the Log Cabin Bar, 122 North 1st Street for the first quarter of 1953 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Whipple and Jarrett. Commissioner Peccole moved the application of Cardinal & Sullivan for license for 1 slot maching at AlRay Liquor Store, 209 Stewart Street for the first quarter of 1953 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. Commissioner Peccole moved the application of Kenneth R. and Clarence E. Cannon for license for 2 Poker and 1 Pan at the Horseshoe Club, 128 Fremont for the first quarter of 1953 be approved subject to favorable investigation by the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent; Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of T. Rolofson for license for 1 slot machine at the L & W Cafe, 18 Garces for the first quarter of 1953 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole, and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Whipple and Jarrett. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Alfred J. Quodbach for license for 6 Slots, 1 "21", 1 Craps, 1 Roulette for the Little Casino, 110 North 1st Street, formerly called the Silver Club for the first quarter of 1953 be denied until a permanent license is issued by the State. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. Commissioner Bunker moved the request of Boysie Ensley, Brown Derby Club for approval of P.L. Jefferson investment of 50% in the bank roll for the operation of the Night shift be approved subject to investigation by the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. Commissioner Peccole moved the notification from the California Club regarding the interest of Jack T. Bullock and Billie H. Gray in their operation be ordered filed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. Commissioner Peccole moved the request of the Fortune Club that slot machine license be amended to include new interest of Robert Van Santen in the amount of 25% be allowed and made a part of said license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the followimg Vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple
