L ast Vegas was even more pro-1 nouneed as the bonds carried 96 [ percent in Precinct No. 5, t h e downtown district. Complete, but unofficial re-! suits showed that there were 5836 “yes” votes and 1874 “noV j votes, with a total vote of 7710 out of a registration of 9361. When informed of the over­whelming passage o f the water' bonds, Thomas Campbell, pres­ident of the water district, stated j last night: \ “The District directors are very grateful for the overwhelming j vote of confidence given by t h e j property, n w n C T so f_ th e entire! Las Vegas valley. Nevertheless, the directors j are humbly grateful for the vote , of confidence given to the plan, 1 by the public. “The district would like to take this opportunity to thank every- [body who has worked so uhtir- [ ingly and given unsparingly their time and effort to the succe® of i this campaign, in addition to the citizens, who*first took the time j and trouble to register so they could go to the polls and record their convictions.” The ambitious "water foriex-pansion” program is expectei to be completed in 18 months when a pipeline is completed between million gallon surface reser­voir in the northwest section of Las Vegas and a 15 million gallcm reservoir th r e e miles northeast 'of Henderfeon.
