This line was constructed about 1942, when material and labor costs were considerably less than they are now. Also enclosed is a statement compiled by the State Engineer Showing withdrawals from the X*ae Yegas Valley in acre feet for the past 24 years. He estimates the re-oharge rats to be about 30,000 aore- 1 feet annually, and tome concern wae felt when the withdrawals exceed the re-charge rate In 1946. While the withdrawals decreased slightly in 1947, the 19*10 estimate was; 34,000 acre-feet. This applies of course to the total wells in ths valley, some 4oo, of which the Water Company has eleven.
