Barnes 0/0 Manager of Properties Omaha, Nebraska Bear Mr, Barnes: In aooord&noe with your verbal request while you were in !*as Vegas last week, 1 am enolosing herewith a oopy of the outline of the existing water supply system from lake Head to MMX. This line was constructed about 1942, when material and labor costs were considerably less than they are now. Also enclosed is a statement compiled by the State Engineer Showing withdrawals from the X*ae Yegas Valley in acre feet for the past 24 years. He estimates the re-oharge rats to be about 30,000 aore- 1 feet annually, and tome concern wae felt when the withdrawals exceed the re-charge rate In 1946. While the withdrawals decreased slightly in 1947, the 19*10 estimate was; 34,000 acre-feet. This applies of course to the total wells in ths valley, some 4oo, of which the Water Company has eleven.
