Dear Doctor:- 1 wish to report to you that the sample of water from the City of Las Yegas submitted to you for examination con tains £654 mlgrms. solids per litre, of which salts of lime pre dominate. Lime exists chiefly as a carbonate and a sulphate. There is only a trace of chlorides present. A small amount of organic matter was found, however, not in quantity sufficient to be considered.
