Xtear'/Sirt;'; Referring to your letter Januasy g2nd, and returning enclosures referred to, regarding Las Vegas water supply. I think it important that an analysis of water furnished at Las Vegas for watering passenger train oars, and used for domestic purposes, be promptly obtained, and with that in view X suggest that a sample of the water be sent to Hr. Herxaan Harms, Utah State Chemist, Salt Lai® City, who makes analyses at regular periods of water furnished by the Oregon Short Line for the above named purposes. Mr. Harms is very thorough and accurate in matters of this kind, and will furnish in struct ions as to the manner of taking and forwarding samples of water sent in for analysis.
