Los Angeles, March 14, 1951 % 300-4 VL A. E. Stoddards (cc - Mr, W. C. Perkins) Referring to LVL&WCo. 1951 Budget Item No. 1 and LA&SL Budget Item No. 2t At the time we prepared the proposed pipe line layout to serve the West Side District, the City of Las Vegas proposed to purchase vacant land north of Old Town, adjoining the northerly city limits, incorporate this area Into the City and construct thereon the Las Vegas Housing Administration Project, and the location of our proposed transmission main was planned accordingly. City now advises that It will not acquire the above mentioned area, but in lieu thereof purchased on Feb. 22nd property already within the city limits, located north of Bonanza Road between "H" Street and Sunny Place, and has funds provided for the immediate construction of the first unit consisting of Administration Office, Community Building and 100 duplex housing units and residences, and proposes to start construction as soon as possible. We do not have water mains in this area, and in view of City's change in its plans, we have prepared the attached revised plans and estimates fox LVL&W Item No. 1 and LA&SL Item No. 2. The originals of these estimates are attached to Mr. Perkins1 copy of this letter. The transmission mains will enable us to serve the enlarged West Side District and furnish additional water and pressure to Old Town. As this area is developed, the service lines connecting with these mains will be constructed under Rule 9-A of the Nevada Public Service Commission. The revised estimates as compared with original estimates are, as follows: Inv. LA&SLRRCo. Item No.2 $40,340 LVL&WCo.
