    OCTOBER 11, 1994
THE FOUNDERS’ DAY COMMITTEE MET ON OCTOBER 11TH AT THE HOME OF SOROR ROSALYN GUY.
THE FOLLOWING COMMITTEE MEMBERS WERE IN ATTENDANCE:
BASILEUS WILLA WHITE SOROR DOROTHY M. JOHNSON SOROR LOIS T. ICE SOROR CAROLYN PARKS SOROR LILLIAN M. GATES SOROR LOVEDA MINLEY SOROR BARBARA KIRKLAND SOROR CLAIR HART
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY SOROR GUY. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WERE DISCUSSED:
SPEAKER; PROPOSED SPEAKER, JUDGE1 JOYCE LONDON ALEXANDER HAD AGREED TO BE OUR FOUNDERS' DAY SPEAKER, HOWEVER, AFTER RESEARCHING THE COST FOR TWO (2), FIRST-GLASS, ROUND-TRIP TICKETS ($2,757.00) PLUS ROOM ACCOMMODATIONS ($70.00 PLUS TAX, PER NIGHT), IT WAS THE CONSENSUS OF THE COMMITTEE THAT WE SECURE ANOTHER SPEAKER.
IN KEEPING WITH THE COMMITTEES WISHES, DR. GENEVIVE SHEPARD OF LOS ANGELES WAS CONTACTED ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF BASILEUS WILLA WHITE. DR 7SHEPARD HAS EXPRESSED AN INTEREST IN BEING OUR FOUNDERS' DAY SPEAKER AND WOULD BE WILLING TO WORK WITHIN OUR BUDGET. HER FEE USUALLY RANGES BETWEEN $300.00 TO $500.00 PLUS
A ROUND-TRIP AIRLINE TICKET. DUE TO HER BUSY SCHEDULE, DR.’SHEPARD WOULD FLY IN THE DAY OF THE FUNCTION AND RETURN THE SAME DAY. THIS WOULD SAVE US THE COST OF ROOM ACCOMMODATIONS.
IT IS BEING RECOMMENDED THAT DR. SHEPARD BE ACCEPTED AS OUR GUEST SPEAKER AND A FEE OF $300.00 BE OFFER, PLUS AIRFARE ($68.00 ROUNDTRIP ON AMERICA WEST). PER AMERICA WEST, THE FARE CAN BE LOCKED IN FOR FEBRUARY TRAVEL IF THE TICKET IS PURCHASED NOW.
TICKETS: THE COMMITTEE IS RECOMMENDING A TICKET PRICE OF $25.00 PER PERSON FOR THE FOUNDERS' DAY LUNCHEON. TICKETS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO MEMBERS AT THE DECEMBER MEETING. EACH MEMBER IS BEING ASKED TO SELL A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) TICKETS EACH.
    BUDGET:
