Murphy, City Manager Gentlemen: For years the effluent from the old Las Vegas sewage disposal plant has been used for irrigation purposes. This effluent has been and still is untreated raw sewage. The users of this sewage are set up to produce raw milk for sale to the several dairies for pasteuri-zation and are within the city limits of Las Vegas, Nevada. Raw sewage used anywhere for any purposes is a health hazard to the com-munity. You are hereby notified that within ninety (90) days from date of this letter any person or persons found to be using or perpetrating the use of this effluent, unless same effluent be treated to preclude the presence of any living bacteria, shall be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The dairy farm now on the premises, (El Rancho Amigo, Will Stewart, et al.) will not be allowed to produce any milk for any pur-pose as long as such health hazard is allowed on or near the premises. This Department refers all parties to Ordinance 76, City of Las Vegas, Nevada. Yours very truly Franz A. Maroshek, M. D. Health Officer By?
