page 2 / Jan. 31, 1951. Some Unknown; I move that the L&W Go be compelled to pipe every new subdivision, Whipple misunderstood, and said it would be impossible to have the land subdivider's money returned at this late date- then motion repeated- no second. Another: Compared Los Angeles frates for a four unit dwelling, with same number of people in Vegas- $13 per month here, and $9 in Los Angeles. (Good meter sales talk?) Another: Wants comparison of Phoenix and Tuscon rates; answered from floor, that comparisons are odious-Phoenix has a municipal system- Tuscon lifts water 550 feet- etc. Huffey: Paid for some pipe to his land and never got back a cent- was told after he did what was demanded that the water company only bought back 6-inch pipe, and his was 2-inch. Trailer Court man; Objected to the discrimination in the rates for trailer .camps. Said an auto laundry had no limit on the water it used (true)- and compared to human occupancy, the .use was 100 fold- and rates unjust on the trailer camp; Another: Objected to paying interest on "gifts" to the utility. Another: Asked for American justice to the L&W Co, Almost howled down at one time. Asked when last raise. 1932. Why not fair to ask after 20 years for increase? Woman said she built 2 more houses on lot, and rate was raised I UNFAIR SHE SAID I About 9:20 Commissioner Whipple said that the meeting might go.on at the same line for all night- but that the resolutions had been passed, and it was no doubt the sense of those present that the matter should now be protested to the Public Service Commission. Write Mr. Shelley, or any of the Commissioners if you have any further good points to’ make not already brought out. The meeting, on viva voce "JUST ADJOURN" - broke up at 9:25 PM. HFC.
