Dear Sir.- I return herewith correspondence enclosed with your favor of the 26th ult. file 60-A, in regard to J. E. Green taking his freight teams off the road from Vegas to Bullfrog and putting them on the road from Ivanpah to Bullfrog. I have Been unable to see Green but on making inquirys I find that the main reason for Green taking his teams off our road was on account of his being able to feed them at ranches along the Ivanpah road and thus save hauling feed. I understand too that thereaire more water­ing stations along the Ivanpah road. Several freighters in addition to Green have left here, but I understand they have laid their teams up for the balance of the warm weather and are not now doing any hauling at all Understand Green is not doing any hauling at present, he being pretty well stocked up and business in the Bullfrog district being practically dead. If the railroad company would spend about $1500.00 in sinking a couple of wells on the freight road beyond Indian Creek and reduce the rate on hay and grain to the minimum/We will be able to hold the freighters at Vegas this fall, but unless something of this sort is done I fear quite a number will go to Ivanpah. The Santa Ee people are making a strong fight for the Bullfrog business. Yours respectfully,
