Yol. 1* No* 14 October 6, 1944 "HII NEIGHBORS" And with this cheerie greeting the new Huntridge Theatre opens its dooi*s next Tuesday evening to welcome you and me into one of the most beautiful theatres in the nation. As you walk in and glance around, don’t oe surprised if you pinch yourself and ask, "Is this really true, or am I in the wrong town?" But it is true and to Tom Oakey, A. J. "Simmy" Simmons, Ira Goldring, Dick 0‘Hoar, and the other guys and gals who helped make this "dream dome true" we say "CONGRATULATIONS! AMD GOOD LUCKS-" The original plans for a very gala opening had to be canoelled because of transportation difficulties. General admission prices will be charged and the proceeds will go to the Clark County Community and War Chest Fund. • "NIGHT LIFE!" A vest pocket guide to tell us all "what*s cooking in the town tonight" will soon be available for free distribution. Mrs. Norcadean Buckner is the very enterprising young lady responsible for this idea and we agree with her that it is a good one. Watch for your first copy of "NIGHT LIFE IN GAY LAS VEGAS." LAST MEETING - Those who attended the meeting this week know a lot more about the history of Nevada and how its boundaries were created than they did before, HUgh Shamberger delved deep into the history book and came out with some very interesting data — and a few skeletons. Some of our first county seats were not even located within the boundaries of their respective counties, Tchl Tchl And too, Hawthorne has the distinguished honor of being the county seat for two counties,- NOl Not at the same time but in her colorful career she has been the county seat of both Churchill and Mineral County.' {The latter at present.)
