Commissioner Hansell informed the Board of Commissioners that Mr. Koebig of Koebig & Koebig would be in Las Vegas on Tuesday the 18th day of February with the complete plans estimates, and specifications, and ask that the Board hold a meeting that day, and have the public informate that Mr. Koebig would explain the sewer system, and answer all questions. Mr. Bracken also read to the Board a letter dated October 1924 in regards to the closing of roads on North Main st. The Clerk was directed to write J. T. McWilliams, and inform him that the roads had been closed by resolution passed at a meeting of the County Board of Commissioners. This being the time set for the opening of bids for the following two issues of bonds, viz: 1. The $10,000.00 Las Vegas Special 1930 Curb and Gutter Improvement Bonds, Series B. 2. The $18,000.00 Las Vegas Special 1930 Pavement Improvement Bonds, Series A. there was filed with the Clerk affidavit of publication of notice for each of said issues, and also the affidavit of the Clerk as to notice given to the State Board of Finance of the State of Nevada, for a period of three weeks and more prior to the opening of said bids, of the sale of said bonds, consisting of an affidavit and copy of the notice for each of said issues. There upon the Clerk was directed to open the bids, such bids being as follows: Benham & Co; and International Trust Company, both of Denver Colo, on the $10,000.00 issue bid par and accrued interest, offered to print the bonds free and furnish legal services, bonds to carry interest at 6% per annum, Same was accompanied by a certified check in the proper amount. Benham & Co; and International Trust Co; both of Denver, Colo. on the $18,000.00 issue, the bid being the same as on the $10,000.00 issue and accompanied by a certified check in the proper amount. Edward L. Burton & Co; of Salt Lake City, Utah made the following bid: For Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) curb and gutter bonds, maturing serially from one to ten years, and for eighteen thousand dollars ($18,000.00) paving bonds, maturing One Thousand Dollars. ($1,000.00) from one to eighteen years, bonds to bear interest at the rate of six percent (6%) per annum, interest payable semi-annually, Twenty-eight Thousand Five Hundred Thirty Dollars, ($28,530.00. with accrued interest from the date of the bonds to the date of their actual delivery to purchaser, and purchaser to print bonds and furnish legal examination. Same was accompanied by certified check in the sum of Two Thousand Dollars, ($2,000.00). Snow, Goodart & Company of Salt Lake City, Utah made the following bid; For $28,000.00 general obligation bonds of the City, for $14,000.00 of bonds bearing interest at the rate of 4 3/4% and maturing $2,000.00 on Jan. 1st in each year 1931 to 1937, inclusively; and $14,000.00 of bonds bearing interest at the rate of 6%, and maturing $2,000.00 on Jan. 1st in each year 1938 to 1940, and $1,000.00 on Jan. 1st in each year. 1941 to 1948, inclusively, bidder to pay par and accrued interest for bonds delivered to purchaser in Salt Lake City, Utah free of exchange or collection charges. The bidder also agreed to print the bonds at a cost of not over $75.00 to the City. The bid was accompanied by a cashier's check for $1,500.00. After considerable discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Thomas, seconded by Commissioner German that the following Resolution be adopted: Resolved, that the bid of Snow Goodart & Company, with the provision that the purchaser print the bonds at a cost of not to exceed $75.00 to the City, is considered and found by this Board to be the best bid on each issue, and that the bid of Snow Goodart & Company on each issue be and the same is hereby accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to accept same in writing in the following form: The foregoing offer is hereby accepted for and on behalf of Las Vegas, Nevada. IN WIT ESS WHEREOF, Witness our hands and the seal of said City, this 14th day of February, A.D. 1930. The vote on said Resolution was as follows: Commissioners German, Hansell, Smith, Thomas and His Honor the Mayor Hesse, voting aye. Noes None. Upon motion of Commissioner German, seconded by Commissioner Hansell it was ordered that the checks of the unsuccessful biders be returned to them by the Clerk. Vote on said motion was as follows; Commissioner Thomas, German, Smith, Hansell, and His Honor the Mayor Hesse, voting aye. Noes none. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time the meeting recessed until Tuesday the 18th day of February 1930 at the hour of three o'clock P.M.
