M. to consider the following matters: 1. Chief of Police s/ C. D. Baker__________________ C. D. BAKER, Mayor NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO: C. D. BAKER, Mayor and to WENDELL. BUNKER, REX A. JARRETT, WILLIAM PECCOLE, REED WHIPPLE, Commissioners, and C. W. SHELLEY, City Manager, HOWARD W. CANNON, City At­torney of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada. You and each of you will please take notice that pursuant to a call this day is­sued by Mayor Baker, a Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, will be held in the Mayor’s Office at the City Hall, 5th and Ste­wart, on the 21st day of December, 1951, at the hour of 10:00 A. M. to consider the following matters: 1. Chief of Police - s/ Shirley Ballinger SHIRLEY BALLINGER, City Clerk ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissi oners, City Manager and City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, do hereby admit due service of the foregoing Notice of Special meeting: s/ C. D. Baker s/ Reed Whipple C . D. BAKER, Mayor REED WHIPPLE, Commissioner s/ Wendell Bunker ____________ WENDELL BUNKER, Commissioner C. W. SHELLEY, City Manager s/ Rex A. Jarrett s/ Howard W. Cannon REX A. JARRETT, Commissioner ~ HOWARD W. CANNON, City Attorney s/ William Peccole WILLIAM PECCOLE, Commissioner A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas called this 21st day of December, 1951 was called to order at the hour of 10:00 A. M. by His Honor Mayor C. D. Baker with the following members present: Mayor C. D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner William Peccole Commissioner Reed Whipple City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent: City Manager C. W. Shelley DEFENSE MOBILIZATION His Honor presented a letter from Manly Fleischmann, Defense Production Administra- MEETING tion stating that there would be a meeting in Los Angeles, January 11, 1952 for Mayors of the cities in the eleven Western States, concerning Defense Mobilization. Commissioner Bunker moved that Mayor Baker be authorized to attend the aforementioned meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. CHIEF OF POLICE Discussion was held by the Board on the administration of the police Department by Chief L. B. Maxwell. The Cleric was requested to call Chief Maxwell and ask him to attend this meeting. Thereafter Chief Maxwell arrived, and further discussion was held. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commis­sioner Bunker moved this meeting adjourn. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ATTEST: APPROVED: City Clerk Mayor
