Shelley DEFENSE MOBILIZATION His Honor presented a letter from Manly Fleischmann, Defense Production Administra- MEETING tion stating that there would be a meeting in Los Angeles, January 11, 1952 for Mayors of the cities in the eleven Western States, concerning Defense Mobilization. Commissioner Bunker moved that Mayor Baker be authorized to attend the aforementioned meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. CHIEF OF POLICE Discussion was held by the Board on the administration of the police Department by Chief L. B. Maxwell. The Cleric was requested to call Chief Maxwell and ask him to attend this meeting. Thereafter Chief Maxwell arrived, and further discussion was held. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Bunker moved this meeting adjourn. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ATTEST: APPROVED: City Clerk Mayor
