80-3.2 received land & Tax dept. Los Angeles, April 2, 1953 Mr. C. M. Bates: APR - 2 1S53 (cc - Mr. Wm, Reinhardt) ULOS ANGELES CALIF. Our executives have authorized the transfer of the Railroad-owned water production facilities and 5 0 7 acres of water-hearing land to the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, and I have been asked to prepare the appropriate documents. Will you please furnish me with a legal description of the 507 acres of land for use in a deed from the Railroad tb'the LVL&W Company. This is the same 507 acres of land which will ultimately be sold to the District. Since we shall convey to the LVL&WCompany the Railroad- owned transmission and power lines which occupy Railroad property outside of the 507 acres of land, it will be necessary to grant to the Water Company a license to occupy the Railroad land for these rights of way. I think it will be desirable for the agreement to provide for the payment of rental by LVL&W Company to the Railroad for _ use of rights of way. Will you please furnish me with a statement of the annual rental which should be paid for rights of way for the existing facilities. I would suggest that you compute the rental on the areas of the rights of way for such facilities which will be eventually conveyed to the District. Mr. Adamson can furnish you with a map showing the location of the existing facilities. I am not asking you at this time for the legal descriptions of such rights of way because it is my intention to indicate the rights of way in the license agreement with the LVL&W Company only by a map.
