All workmanship, material and the Installation of said water main shall be subject to the approval and acceptance by a duly authorized representative of the Company. A review of the proposed contract with Herc&r Construction Company indicate the sum of $71,000, includes, among other things, the furnishing of fire hydrants, pipe and fittings for fl e hydrant connections and labor of installing such fire hydrants and connections. As advised in our letter of June 195*2» the cost of such hydrants and connections to refund. is not subleot have reviewed the estimated costs furnished in our letter above referred to and, due to subsequent increased material and labor costs, we find it necessary to revise our estimates as follows! (a) The estimated cost of furnishing materials and labor to complete the installation of the water mains as Indicated upon the attached Map marked B-597, is the sum of $63,260, which amount pursuant to Nevada Public Service Commission Hule 9 will be subject to refund. (b) The estimated cost of furnishing materials and labor to complete the installation of 15 fire hydrants and connections (exclusive of the cost of the fire hydrants) is the sum of $2 ,^20, which will not be subject to refund. As advised in our letter of June 1952s (a) You will at your own expense furnish the 15 fire hydrants as required by the city to provide adequate fire protection, (b) -Cach of the above estimates Includes a contingency item of 10$ which is to cover any unforeseen increase in material and other cost. Our contract will provide, among other things, that you deposit the estimated cost of $65,680, and In the event actual cost of the work should be less than your deposit, the Water Company will refund to you such excess amount. In the event, however, that the actual cost should exceed the amount of your deposit, you will, upon receipt of Mil, reimburse the Water Company for such additional coat.
