BY REQUIRING AN INVESTIGATION OF ALL PRIVATE DETECTIVES AND SPECIAL INVESTIGATORS; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, was read by title to the Board and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett for study and recommendation. PROPOSED ORDINANCE At this time the proposed ordinance for amendment to the civil Service Civil Service Amendment Ordinance, entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 468 ADOPTING THE CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA; BY CHANGING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS FOR APPLICANTS FOR POSITIONS IN THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, was read by title to the Board and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Sharp for study and recommendation. PROPOSED ORDINANCE At this time the proposed ordinance for amendment to the Parking Meter Parking Meter Amendment Ordinance, entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 120, CHAPTER 36, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, ALSO KNOWN AS SECTION 6, ORDINANCE NO. 354, BY PRESCRIBING PARKING TIME LIMITS IN THE PARKING METER ZONE; PRESCRIBING FEES FOR PARKING; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read by title to the Board and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Whipple for study and recommendation. CONDEMNED BUILDINGS After Discussion and hearing, Commissioner Whipple moved that Dr. A. Coblentz, State Loan and Jewelry, 104 Fremont be given to March 1, 1954 to cease State Loan & Jewelry operations, or if he desires, to apply for a transfer of license to a new 104 Fremont location; and that the Police Department and the City Attorney be instructed to see that no pawn shop be operated without a license at said location after March 1, 1954. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Smith & Chandler Mr. William Coulthard representing Smith and Chandler, appeared before the 110 Fremont Board at this time with Mr. Chandler in regard to conducting business in a condemned building. After discussion and hearing Commissioner Sharp moved that Smith & Chandler be given to March 1, 1954 to cease operations at 110 Fremont, and that the license already illegally issued by revoked; further that the Police Department and City Attorney be instructed to see that they do not operate at said location after March 1, 1954 without a license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Mike's Liquor Store Mr. George Rudiak appeared before the Board at this time representing Mike's 106 Fremont Liquor Store, Alfred Ripps, 106 Fremont, regarding conducting business in a condemned building. After discussion and hearing Commissioner Jarrett moved that Mike's Liquor Store be given until March 1, 1954 to cease operation at 106 Fremont and if Mr. Ripps desires to apply for a license at a new location it will be considered at the next meeting; further that the Police Department and City Attorney be instructed to see that Mr. Ripps does not operate at this location without a license after March 1, 1954. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ORDINANCE NO. 514 Commissioner Jarrett moved to amend Ordinance No. 514, Section I, to read Amend "one member to be a licensed plumbing and/or air conditioning contractor in the State of Nevada". Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, Commissioner Jarrett moved this meeting adjourn.
