Vol. ONE No. ONE AUGUST 24,1998 HADASSAH LAS VEGAS CHAPTER WOMAN OF THE WEST (WOW) MULTI REGIONAL CONFERENCE APRIL 22-25 1999 SAVE THIS DATES APRIL 22-25 AT THE ORLEANS HOTEL IAS VEGAS NV. Women of the West (WOW) Multi Regional Conference. HADASSAH Chapters for Southern California Mega Chapter, Central Pacific Coast Region, Desert Mountain Region, Pacific Northwest Region, and the Greater Southwest Region. All Here Under One Roof! Presidents Letter Lech L'cha "Go Forth" This famous phrase has been interpitted in many ways. Some say "Go by yourself." This interpitation does not fit HADASSAH because we go together to reach our goals. Some say "Go forth as to Go to yourself," as n finding your roots and your potential. We study, share ideas and look for ways to reach our potential as women in a modem world We study, share ideas and look for ways to reach our potential as women in a modern world. Lech L'cha for HADASSAH means "Go forth together." Together we will excel in all we do, striving to read our goals and to find new ways to make dreams comes true. At the national HADASSAH Convention which was held in New York City this past J^ily. Sally Nyberg who is part of the Presidium of Pvishona and I were exposed to new ideas and HADASSAH's vision for the future. Visions and dreams that if fulfilled will affect on the world. We saw films of Russian and Ethiopian children studding and living Jewishly. It was very inspiring. Seeing a child walk for the first time after losing a limb to a terrorist or a man surviving a transplant because of the HADASSAH hospital, was uplifting. To sit, study and pray, share live and breath HADASSAH with almost 3,000 members and associates was amazing. We should all be proud to be part of the largest Zionist organization that sent more young people to Israel this summer than any other youth program. This year Las Vegas HADASSAH will continue to make dreams come true.Tikvah a group chartered for women under 45 years of age will encourage young women and their husbands (new associates ) to become involved in Training Wheels and Young Leadership. Young Judea will start a youth program for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. We will all work together to make quotas and enjoy raising the money necessary. 2 HADASSAH AUGUST 24r19998 I look forward to a great year with the help of an amazing board. The board has a balanced representation from each of the three active groups, Aviva, Rishona and Shoshanim. If everyone will support group and chapter events and send tributes and make donations we will make quotas. Please continue to support out Chapter Thrift Shop by donating or working. If we can get some of our working women to help, we can open Sunday. If we "go forth" Lech L'cha together, we will reach our quota, we will exceed our dreams. May you have a year that nightmares fade with the sunrise. May you have a year of peaceful and fulfilling dreams. It was very stimulating to learn and share ideas. The conference really helped me feel in powered to be part of this Organization. We are involved in so many things. Seeing HADASSAH nurses help care of a terrorist was a true example of what HADASSAH hospitals stand for "Lo care for all who need our care." Some entertainment was provided young Judaic members and they were wonderful. I'm turned on and I won't be turned off to this wonderful organization. Now that I'm enthusiastic, I really look for ward to a great year. Our group has a lot of programs that will interest everyone. Our chapter is planning four great events and just fun things we can do.
