OFFICE OF TEE CITY CLERK, CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. AUGUST 14th, 1931. Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held on the 14th day of August 1931 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Roll call of officers showed the following present: Mayor Cragin, Commissioners Thomas, Mundy and German, City Attorney Stevens and City Clerk Viola Burns. Mayor Cragin appointed Commissioner German to act as Water Sewer and Light Commissioner due to absence of Commissioner of that Department L.B. Hansell. Bi-monthly pay roll approved; At this time the Board took up the matter of the canvas of the vote at the Sewer Bond Election held on the 12th day of August 1931, the result of the said canvas being as follows: Precinct No. 1. TOTALS For Against For the Bonds 37 37 Against the Bonds 7 7 Precinct No. 2 For the Bonds 45 45 Against the Bonds 7 7 Precinct No. 3 For the Bonds 49 49 Against the Bonds 10 10 Precinct No. 4 For the Bonds 39 39 Against the Bonds 5 5 Precinct No. 5 For the Bonds 68 68 Against the Bonds 16 16 Precinct No. 6 For the Bonds 79 79 Against the Bonds 15 15 Precinct No. 7 For the Bonds 67 67 Against the Bonds 14 14 Precinct No. 8 For the Bonds 20 20 Against the Bonds 2 2 Precinct No. 9 For the Bonds 60 60____ Against the bonds 10 10 474 86 There upon it appearing to the Board that the result of the canvas of the votes at the Special Sewer Bonds Election showed that the bonds had carried by a plurality of all votes cast on motion of Commissioner Mundy seconded by Commissioner German moved that the Sewer Bonds had carried. Vote on said motion was as follows: Commissioners German, Mundy and Thomas and His Honor the Mayor voting Aye. Noes none. On motion of Commissioner Mundy seconded by Commissioner German it was Resolved, that the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to notify Webster L. Benham, Consulting Engineer on Sewer Project, that the $160,000.00 sewerage bonds were authorized by the Special Election, held on the 12th day of August, 1931, and that he proceed with the completion of plans and specifications, and that he be notified that the Board does not contemplate sale of any of the bonds until moneys are raised by special assessments for the laterals, such bonds to be offered for sale at the same time special assessment bonds are offered for sale. Vote on said Resolution was as follows: Commissioners Mundy and German, and His Honor the Mayor E.W.Cragin voting Aye. Noes none.
