I agree.Page 3 AMERICAN BOTTLERS OF CARBONATED BEVERAGES The ABCS Convention was heid in Detroit November 14-17/ I960. Barney Rawlings presented the Las Vegas invitation for IS65 or 1967 to the Board. No decision was made. A list of the Members of the Board has been sent to the hotel representatives, and when an up to date list is received by the Bureau it will be passed on to the hotels. If any hotel representatives know any of the Mem- bers of the Board, they are urged to work on them. This also applies to anyone in the industry. ASSOCIATED GENERAL CONTRACTORS OF AMERICA This Convention has been awarded to Las Vegas for March 2-5/ 1964. A bulletin was sent to the hotel representatives a few days ago advising that it has been the experience of this convention that 30% of the delegates will arrive on Saturday. The hotel rep- resentatives should bear this in mind when committing rooms. AMERICAN LEGION We have been advised that the American Legion Is considering con- vening in Las Vegas in 1962 rather than 1565. Harry Foster, Chrtn. of the Convention Commission, will be in Las Vegas on Friday, December 2, staying at the Desert Inn. We must meet their conditions, one of which is that the Fair & Recreation Board agrees to underwrite this Convention in the amount of $50,000. This will be decided upon at the Board's December 6 meeting. Herb McDonald moved that this Committee go on record as recommend- ing that the Fair & Recreation Board underwrite the American Legion Convention for 1962. It was agreed by ail hotel representatives present. The dates of October 5-11/ 1962 should be blocked. A maximum commitment will be needed.
