BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, in a regular meeting on the 1st day of June, 1955, having considered the application of Ruth Day Nelson for a variance to allow an obedience training school for dogs at 729 South Rose Street; and The Board having considered the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment denying this application; NOW, THEREFORE, it is the decision of this Board that the application of Ruth Day Nelson for a variance to allow an obedience training school for dogs at 729 South Rose Street be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the Board considered the application of the Moulin Rouge to permit the development of resort hotel facilities of a non-commercial nature on property situated at McWilliams extending south 335 feet between H and J Streets, bordered on the south by the Moulin Rouge Hotel and on the north by Marble Manor Housing, conditionally approved by the Board of Adjustment. Consideration of the Board was given to the application of Aqua Hotel Corporation to operate a bar and restaurant in an existing hotel at 1401 South 5th Street, approved by the Board of Adjustment.
