    BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, in a regular meeting on the 1st day of June, 1955, having considered the application of Ruth Day Nelson for a variance to allow an obedience training school for dogs at 729 South Rose Street; and The Board having considered the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment denying this application; NOW, THEREFORE, it is the decision of this Board that the application of Ruth Day Nelson for a variance to allow an obedience training school for dogs at 729 South Rose Street be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the Board considered the application of the Moulin Rouge to permit the development of resort hotel facilities of a non-commercial nature on property situated at McWilliams extending south 335 feet between H and J Streets, bordered on the south by the Moulin Rouge Hotel and on the north by Marble Manor Housing, conditionally approved by the Board of Adjustment. Commissioner Whipple moved that this application of the Moulin Rouge for a variance be approved, and the following resolution adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, in a regular meeting on the 1st day of June, 1955; having considered the application of the Moulin Rouge for a variance to permit the development of resort hotel facilities of a non-commercial nature on property situated at McWilliams extending south 335 feet between H and J Streets, bordered on the south by the Moulin Rouge Hotel and on the north by Marble Manor Housing; and The Board having considered the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment conditionally approving this application; NOW, THEREFORE, it is the decision of this Board that the application of the Moulin Rouge for a variance to permit the development of resort hotel facilities of a non­commercial nature on property situated at McWilliams extending south 335 feet between H and J Streets, bordered on the south by the Moulin Rouge Hotel and on the north by Marble Manor Housing be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp qualified his vote by stating that the firm of Zick and Sharp were architects for the Moulin Rouge. Commissioner Jarrett declared that he writes insurance for the Moulin Rouge. Consideration of the Board was given to the application of Aqua Hotel Corporation to operate a bar and restaurant in an existing hotel at 1401 South 5th Street, approved by the Board of Adjustment. At this time the Board considered the application of Pardee-Philips for a use permit to erect a sales office building in Francisco Park #2, property location 150 feet north of San Francisco Avenue, between 15th and Chapman, approved by the Board of Adjustment until January 15, 1956. Commissioner Sharp moved that the application of Pardee-Philips for a use permit to erect a sales office building in Francisco Park #2 be approved, and the following resolution adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, in a regular meeting on the 1st day of June, 1955; having considered the application of Pardee-Philips for a use permit to erect a sales office building in Francisco Park #2, property location 150 feet north of San Francisco Avenue, between 15th and Chapman; and The Board having considered the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment approving this application until January 15, 1956. NOW, THEREFORE, it is the decision of this Board that the application of Pardee-Philips for a use permit to erect a sales office building in Francisco Park #2, property location 150 feet north of San Francisco Avenue, between 15th and Chapman be approved until January 15, 1956.
