Jones, district attorney, traced the creation o f the a c t . w h ich alkiws form ation o f such a district and' said that w e ( h ave reached a stage here n ow ; w h ere all w ater supply systems i m ust b e brought under one head. < H e pointed out that the w ater is district w ou ld b e financed w ith 1 revenue producing bon ds a n d that the creation o f the district w ou ld have n o bearing w hatever on the tax burden w h ich the local taxpayers- w ill carry. He said also that it w as almost a certainty th at the • w ater rates w o u ld not b e any higher under} the n ew system and quite p os-j sibly cou ld be low ered. H e said also that the w a t e r ! district w ou ld not take w ater ; aw ay from anyone and that n o ; one’s w ell w ou ld be taken away ] or closed dow n. C. D. Baker, state senator from Clarg county, explained the act, defined the boundaries o f the i various divisions in the district ] Ijand said that, under the present I set-up, there p rob a b ly ,w ould n o t 1 I be m uch w ater available fo r agri- ; cultural use, that this w ou ld const later. H e said that, eventually, it w as probable that another parallel line w ou ld be needed to take care o f th e additional e x pansion here and, at that tim e, t h e agricultural developm ent angle cou ld be counted in. B efore the m eeting Was concluded, it w as decided t o start an intensive pu blicity cam paign to in form the people o f the necessity o f form in g the district and to get out the v o te for the O ctober 19 electiQn. j
