    Commissioner Clark moved that the claim of the Las Vegas Land & Water Company covering labor $14.78 and $9.80 for fire hydrant parts be allowed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Clark, Rubidoux, Smith, Tinch and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Two statements from Hampton Bros, in the respective sums, of $68.48 and $63.60 for work on the old city hall was referred to the Clark County Health Department The following claims Were presented for payment: Charles R. Hadley Company, for supplies, $23.32; Las Vegas Printing Company - signs - air raid $18.50; Frank D. Rathbun, 6 maps, $3.00; F. B. DeWald - labor & material - Citizens Defense Corp, $10.00; Nevada Electric - supplies - $24.00; Western Surgical Supply Co - supplies - $11.36; and $15.50; & Baker & Rhoads maps $1.00. Commissioner Clark moved that said claims be allowed and that the county be billed for half of the total amount. Motion seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Clark, Rubidoux, Smith, Tinch and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Commissioner Rubidoux moved that the claim of O. J. Scherer for $1470 for septic tank and cesspool at the Airport Administration site be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Clark, Rubidoux, Smith, Tinch and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. A statement for $1.79 covering taxes on certain property heretofore assessed to L. J. Friedman and now owned by the city was presented by the tax collector. Commissioner Clark moved that they be paid. Motion seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Clark, Rubidoux, Smith, Tinch and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Commissioner Smith moved that final payment of $4,741.00 on the Airport Administration Building be made to O. J. Scherer, subject to the approval of the city auditor. Motion seconded by Commissioner Rubidoux and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Clark, Rubidoux, Smith, Tinch and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Commissioner Tinch moved that this meeting adjourn until August 4th, 1942 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried by unanimous vote. CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING TO: HELEN SCOTT REED, CITY CLERK CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA A Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, is hereby called to be held in the council Chamber at the War Memorial Building, Saturday, July 18, 1942 at the hour of 9:00 A. M., on said day to consider the following: 1. To consider granting permission to the WAAC to sponsor a carnival in the City of Las Vegas. Howell C. Garrison________ Mayor To: Howell C. Rubidoux, Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada: You and each of you will please take notice: That pursuant to a call this day issued by the Mayor of the City of Las Vegas, a Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, will be held in the Council Chamers at the War Memorial Building on the 18th day of July, 1942 at the hour of 9:00 A. M., of said day to consider the following: 1. To consider granting permission to the Women's Ambulance Corps to sponsor a carnival in the City of Las Vegas. You will govern yourselves accordingly.
