I agree.ft* <J(Jft Nr. A. 0. Mercer - Omaha: (cc * Nr. E. 6* Renwick Nr. CaIvin N. Cory - In connection with Work Order 6495, covering the retirement of 70,000 gallon steel water tank, etc., at Arden, Nevada, the question arose as to whether the retirement of this tank would jeopardise our rights granted under a certificate of appropriation of water by State of Nevada to obtain water from Cottonwood Springs. The matter was referred to our Law Department and the following replies were furnished by Messrs. Renwick and Cory: From Mr. Renwick: "We have located in the Land and Tax Department files an undated copy of LA&SLRRCo, Deed Audit No. 4033* which appears to be a Certificate of Appropriation of Water from Upper Cottonwood Springs, Nevada* I am enclosing to you and to Nr. Groome a copy of this certificate. "I suggest that Mr* Groome have the Auditor conduct an investigation of his files as to Certificates of Water Appropriation in this area because there may be other such certificates* "Also I presume it would be possible to obtain a record by searching the real property records in Clark County, Nevada, if we cannot develop the information from our own records. Perhaps you can determine how much it would cost to have this done so that Mr. Groome can determine whether or not such an expenditure is justified."
