m . MAIUfflAH Mr. W. H. Guild-Omaha: Lob Angeles - Nor. 4, 19^7 (CG - Mr. Wa. Reinhardt - Los Angeles Mr* W. K, Huleixsr - Omaha ) We have had serious complaint froia residents served from our new 24” main along Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas (ineluding eon-plaint from the Mayor)> that there is insufficient pressure in the cooler weather to permit watering of their lawns, and in some oases insufficient pressure in the house itself* Paused by our failure to foresee the need of a 24” pressure reducing valve at the east end of the 24” line. Under present conditions we work our booster pumps into the 24” line during the hot months when the demand is heavy, but if only one pump is used during the winter months when the demand is light we have too muoh pressure in the easterly part of town, which tends to damage plumbing in the houses. reducing valve that can be adjusted seasonally to meet the conditions at an estimated cost of $3,000, chargeable to Investment. There is stifficient unexpended balanoe under Work Order 3180-1* and I request authority to reopen the Work Order and charge expenditure thereto. 2 personally investigated this oomplaint, and find It This can be readily oorreoted by Installation of a pressure Mr. Reinhardt approves, 3-5 Frank Strong Diet.
