    March 29, 1918. The Pacific Audit & System Co., Union Oil Building, Los Angeles, Calif. Gentlemen: We are in receipt of your letter of the 27th, recommending Mr. John Jefferson for the position of assayer in our employ. You may send Mr. Jefferson, and we would wish him to arrive not later than the 5th, if possible, so that the retiring assayer may assist him in familiarizing himself with the duties of the position.
