    MINUTES OF MEETING OF COMMITTEE SELECTED TO CONSIDER QUESTION OF RAILROAD COMPANY OBTAINING ITS SUPPLY OF MATER FOR RAILROAD FACILITIES AT LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, BY USING SHOP UELL* Tbit committed met at Las Vegas, Nevada, March 4th, 1952, with the following present* A* Bybee, A ssistant Superintendent, Las Vegas, Nevada* Calvin Cory, General Attorney, Las Vegas, Nevada* P. G. Martin', Division Engineer, Lde Angeles. L. M. Ashton, Bridge Inspector, Omaha* L. R. Haag, Asst* Industrial Engineer, Los Angeles* J. M* Anderson, General Mater Service Foreman,Los Angeles. R* L* Adamson, Industrial Engineer, Los Angeles. J. O 'B ryan/D istrict Foreman, Mechanical Dept., Las Vegas. A. J. Scott, Plant Manager, PFB Company, Las Vegas* 1. Mr* Calvin Cory w ill investigate the question as to whether the LA&SL Railroad Company has a'vested right In the 2.5 CFS in Mell No. 1 in the water fie ld , and therefore ooold require transfer of such water right to a new location. In any event, committee is of the opinion that effort should he made to transfer entire 2*5 CFS to shop w ell, and does not fe e l that Railroad Company should relinquish any o f it s water rights* 2* Committee proposes to start work as quickly as §osslb le in cleaning out shop w ell and in creasin g'its flow. t is our opinion that w ell, whelh pumped stead ily, particularly, in summer season, w ill produce only 180 GPM in i t s present condition* Committee further believes that railroad f a c ilit ie s , including the railroad rooming house and PEE, w ill require a production of approximately 220 GPM* Therefore, we w u l re­condition tlils w ell so as to d efin itely determine amount o f production which can be obtained from it* 3h event PFE obtains it s water from the LVLftM Company or the Las Vegas Valley Mater D istrict, then the amount o f water required to serve railroad f a c ilit ie s , including rooming house, i s approximately 157 GPM* These figures exclude requirements for a ll industries now served by Railroad Company. After reoonditionIng and te st o f shop w ell, layout and f a c ilit ie s required w ill be determined and estimate o f eoet prepared, and further report made*
