    384 Commissioner Moore moved that the foregoing gaming applications for the 2nd quarter of 1949 be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. FIRE DEPARTMENT LADDER Commissioner Moore moved that the contract with the F. S. & W. W. Hirsch Company for a Contract Signed ladder for the Fire Department be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. ORDINANCE CODIFICATION Commissioner Clark moved the Mitchie City Publications be instructed to commence the work Printing Ordered of completing the codification and printing of the City of Las Vegas ordinances and send a copy of the contract to the City for approval. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Moore moved that this meeting recess until May 2, 1949 at 3:00 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. ATTEST: APPROVED: City Clary Mayor Las Vegas, Nevada May 2, 1949 A recessed regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners held this 2nd day of May, 1949 was called to order at the hour of 3:30 P.M. by His Honor Mayor E. W. Cragin with the following members present: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple; City Manager J. M. Murphy, City Attorney C. Norman Cornwall, City Clerk Shirley Ballinger and City Comptroller Harold A. Laird. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. TAXI APPLICATION Commissioner Clark moved that the application of the Union Cab for two additional taxis be Union Cab granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. LIQUOR APPLICATION Commissioner Clark moved that the application of James G. Leavitt, Nevada Sport service Inc. Nevada Sport service Inc. for a Retail Beverage license at Cashman Field during the 2nd quarter of 1949 be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. BUREAU OF COMMUNITY His Honor read a telegram from Senator Pat McCarran relative to a meeting to be held in FACILITIES - Meeting Washington D. C. on May 5, 1949 with the Bureau of Community Facilities on Sewage Treatment Plants. Thereafter Commissioner Clark moved that the City Manager be directed to attend the aforementioned meeting at the expense of the City. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. CODIFICATION OF Commissioner Clark moved that the contract between the City and Mitchie City Publications be ORDINANCES - Contract amended to include the provision that a proof be submitted to the City for final approval for Printing before the publication is bound. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. At this time Commissioner Clark asked to be excused from the meeting. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Whipple moved that this meeting recess until May 5, 1949 at 3:00 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Baskin and Clark.
