    Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Sharp declared before he voted that a relative of his owns Lot 4 and has previously petitioned for annexation. ANNEXATION (A-2-58) The Commission considered the petition for annexation of Lots 5 and 6 of Sebec Acres, save Sebec Acres and except the east 150 feet of Lot 6. Planning Director Bills advised that the Planning Commission recommends this property for annexation. Commissioner Fountain asked if there was not a possibility of other property in this area being annexed. Mr. Bills stated that a study was being made, but they had found no interest of the property owners in being annexed. Commissioner Fountain moved this annexation petition be held in abeyance for further study. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioner Sharp, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed Uniform Housing Uniform Housing Code Code ordinance requested additional time before reporting. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioner Sharp, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed Uniform Uniform Building Code Building Code Ordinance requested additional time before reporting. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioner Sharp, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed Unsafe Building Unsafe Building Code Code ordinance requested additional time before reporting. ORDINANCE NO. 773 Commissioners Fountain and Whipple reported that legal notice has been given on the Fire Prevention Code, and recommended that this proposed ordinance be adopted. Thereafter an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A FIRE PREVENTION CODE; PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS GOVERNING CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS TO LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM FIRE OR EXPLOSION; PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION; PROVIDING OFFICERS THEREFORE AND DEFINING THEIR POWERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Fountain moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 773 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. BID NO. 58.21 This being the time heretofore set for the opening of bids for the furnishing of a Rubber Tire Rubber Tire Loader Loader, proposals were received from the following firms: Opening INLAND SERVICE & SUPPLY $13,300.00 CLARK COUNTY WHOLESALE 15,711.00 A. D. MACHINERY 16,880.00 Commissioner Fountain moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Director of Public Works for tabulation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT NBFU NO. 58, STANDARDS FOR THE STORAGE AND Liquified Petroleum HANDLING OF LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GASES WITHIN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; PROVIDING FOR THE Gas Code ENFORCEMENT THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR FEES, PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Fountain Sharp for recommendation. HUNTRIDGE FIRE STATION City Manager Kennedy advised that Dr. Ross Sutherland and B. Mahlon Brown, representing the Proposed Lease or Huntridge Development Company were present to discuss the proposed lease or sale of the Huntridge Sale Fire Station on East Charleston Boulevard, as requested at the last regular meeting of the Commission. Mr. Brown spoke first and stated that two of the members of the Board of Directors were out of the country, and that a new proposal from the Huntridge Development cannot be submitted until they return. He asked that this matter be postponed for two weeks to give them an opportunity to rebid. He stated that even if the City accepted the original offer of $45,000 for the sale of this land, and invested this money, that the return would be very good. Mr. William Morse, representing Dr. Ross Sutherland advised the Commission that there is a great need for the installation that the Doctor proposed to build. He stated that it would be a 25 bed emergency hospital and would cost approximately one-quarter of a million dollars. He stated that Dr. Sutherland was willing to increase his bid on a lease-purchase basis from $65,000 to $75,000, or in the alternative would still bid $65,000 and give the City the opportunity to purchase the property and the hospital at the end of 30 years for $1.00. At the hour of 8:25 P.M. the meeting recessed and reconvened at the hour of 8:40 P.M. with all members present as of the opening session. Mayor Baker announced that it was the wish of the Commission that this property be sold as an out right sale, and that bids would be received at the regular fleeting of October 1, 1958. BID NO. 58.19 City Manager Kennedy recommended that Bid No. 58.19 for the furnishing of five pickup trucks Pickup Trucks be awarded to Clark County Wholesale. He stated that this was a replacement program, and that Award five old pickups would be sold as soon as the new ones are received. Commissioner Fountain moved this recommendation be accepted and that Bid No. 58.19 for the furnishing of 5 ½ ton pickup trucks be awarded to Clark County Wholesale in the total amount of $8,585.70. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioner Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. 9-3-58
