BANCROFT; * Firs* ^Vice-President OFFICE OF FIRST /VICE-F 5IDEN1 Salt Lake City, April 22nd, 1912, Expense of patrolling water line * I^as Vestas: Mr* Z. Roes Clark, Second Vice-President, Los Angeles. Lear Sir: Referring to copy of your letter to Mr .We11s of April 19th, with notation on bottom to me asking if I do not think the expense can be stopped: This is something that I really do not feel competent to advise about. I think every reasonable precaution should be taken to protect the pipe line from the springs to Las Vegas. Possibly a more effective method of doing this, however, could be devised than the present one. If they have got to hire a horse for this purpose, think it would be better to purchase one outright. : jfouars truly,
