Mr. Larsons #3 September 10, 1938 summer months the Laa Vegas Creek is entirely dry and we have been hard put to it to secure su fficien t water to supply the demands of the City. Eaoh of the Weir measurements shown above agree with our records except the estimated production of the open spring. According to our records the maximum production from this particular source was 149,798,000 gallons per year based on actual Weir Measurements taken by General Water Service foreman Anderson June 18, 1935, of 385 gallons per minute. Using this figure of 148,798,000 gallons per year as the production of the Open Spring instead of the figure shown in the report would in turn reduce the amount of water reported as diverted to the ranch to 783,739,000 gallons, which is less than the amount used by the City, and is more nearly correct. The reason I mention th is matter at the present time is because a survey of the underground water available in Las Vegas valley is now being conducted, and it is desirable that our reports re fle c t that the major part of our water production is being put to the mo t ben eficial use. As a matter of information can you advise how this estimated figure was arrived at. In this connection Mr. Tolamd requests that I arrange with you to furnish this o ffic e with information sim ilar to the above fo r compilation of the annual report eaoh year, and I w ill very much appreciate it i f you w ill forward measurements sim ilar to the above as soon as possible a fte r the close of each year. Very truly yours, Walter r . bracken, Vio e-Pre s ident. oc Mr. Frank Strong Above refers to your F ile 1-7334 of your August 4th and our conference in Los Angeles. For your information I attach copy of General Auditor's letter September 8th and we w i ll be guided thereby in fhe preparation of the annual report.
