cc-Mr. Fo H. Knickerbocker v Los Angel *# w J S \ es, October 31, 1935. 20-334 Mr. *H. C. Mann: non *C? Referring to your le tte r of October 14th, f i l e LA-20-8, re lative to water fa c ilit ie s at Las Vegas: Drawing 41092, revised October 2, 1935, and submitted with my le tte r of October 5th, shows the location, e lse , kind and length o f pipes, but perhaps not as clearly as it should be. We have, therefore, shown additional information on the attached print of Drawing 41092, revised October 29, 1935, including work authority numbers and date completed for pipes in spring and reservoir area, Our estimate!cost of new 12* w ell and 12* pipe lin e included cost of heavy wire fen ce'50 f t . square around the w ell, sim ilar to fenoe now provided at the present well and settlin g basin, but fenoe around new w ell was inadvertently omitted from the print. We now have one lin e of 24* redwood stave pipe between the se ttlin g basin and reservoir, but i f an additional w ell is d rille d , then i t w ill be necessary to construct additional pipe lin e approximately 800 f t . long from settlin g basify p a ra lle lin g present pipe with connections to reservoir and to the south or west lin e of 24* pipe opposite center of reservoir, as indicated on attached p rin t. This lin e should have been Included in our former estimate. While a somewhat smaller pipe than 24* diameter, together with present 24* pipe, would carry the water from present w ell and springs and also the new w ell with a possible flow o f 1800 to 2700 gallons per minute, we recommend the in stallation of 24" oast iron pipe as a safety factor in event of increase in flow of
