Schellang 18 Fremont 22 Bingo Chairs Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Harry V.T. Gilbert, Gilbert Bros., 400 W. Bonanza for license for 2 slot machines for the first quarter of 1952 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Peccole moved the application of Lawrence Tiede, Larry’s Market, 631 South 1st for 2 slot machines for the second quarter of 1952 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Peccole moved that Action on the application of the D & D Drive Inn for a Restaurant Beverage license be deferred until after the Liquor Ordinance has been amended. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Patsy Malpede and Glenn Marshall, Nevada Bar, 115 North 1st Street for a Restaurant Beverage license for the second quarter of 1952 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Lee Spiers, Boulder Cab Company, 722 North Main for 1 additional taxi for the second quarter of 1952 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Bunker moved the following applications for taxi licenses, being changes, of operators, be approved subject to investigation by the Police Department; CHECKER CAB CO. Victor Bloom 1 taxi WESTERN ENTERPRISES INC. Ira Halliburton 2 taxis NORTH LAS VEGAS TAXI Ben R. White 2 taxis Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. At this time City Attorney Howard W. Cannon arrived at the meeting. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of the Frontier Club for refund of $350.00 on 2 crap games for the second quarter of 1952 that have not been used, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Members of the Gold Star Mothers were present to request a place in the City Park for their monument. Commissioner Jarrett moved the City Manager, Planning Director, Recreation Director and Bark Superintendent be authorized to find a place in the City Bark for the Gold Star Mothers’ Monument. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Peccole moved that Lot 1, Beckley Subdivision and Lots 1 to 5 inclusive of of Block 12, Boulder Addition be rezoned from R-3 to C-1. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Jarrett moved that the two lots in front of South 3rd Place being Lots 2 and 12 of Beckley Subdivision remain R-3.
