Commissioner Bunker moved the City Engineer be authorized to publish notice advertising for bids for the installation of improvements in Assessment Districts Nos. 100-16 and 100-17. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Bunker moved this meeting adjourn. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. APPROVED: City Clerk Mayor Las Vegas, Nevada May 21, 1952 A regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held this 21st day of May, 1952 was called to order at the hour of 7:35 P.M. by His Honor Mayor C.D. Baker with the following members present: Mayor C.D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner William Peccole Commissioner Reed Whipple Assistant City Manager Dora Lord City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent: City Manager C.W. Shelley Commissioner Bunker moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 1299 to 1303 inclusive in the net amount of $30,030.27 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved that Service and Material Warrants Nos. 2271 to 2274 inclusive in the total amount of $43,659.30 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole moved that the Minutes of May 5, 7, 9 and 12, 1952 be approved by refer­ence and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the Humane Society contract be renewed from June 1, 1952 to June 1, 1953 under the same terms and conditions as the previous contract, and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole moved that pursuant to the recommendation of the City Engineer that Assessment District No. 100-6 be accepted subject to notification from the City Engineer that the chips on these streets have been cleaned up. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole moved the request of the Las Vegas PTA to hold a circus June 27 and 28, 1952 be approved providing the Police Department is contacted for policing activities and the City is not held liable for any of the activities of this circus. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole moved the request of the Clark County Sheriff's Relief Association to hold a fireworks display at Cashman Field on July 3, 1952 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the Mayor be authorized to sign the petition for street lighting assessment for the installation of street lights along Highway 91. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time Commissioner Bunker left the meeting.
