    152 ORDINANCE #339 An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN TERRITORY AD- ANNEXATION JOINING AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, ORDERING A PLAT SHOWING SAID TERRITORY BE RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY RECORDER, COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO", was read to the board for a second time, thereafter, Commissioner Baskin moved that the foregoing ordinance be adopted on its second reading. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent* Commissioner Clark. AMENDMENT MILK Commissioner Whipple moved that the city Attorney be directed to prepare ORDINANCE an ordinance to amend the existing milk ordinance as recommended by the Health Department. * Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. CONTRACT #W2972-ENG- Commissioner Moore moved that the Mayor and city Clerk be authorized to 1572 LEASE U. S. GOV- sign Public Voucher #W2972-ENG-1572 for payment of $1.00 for rental of ERNMENT AIRPORT land at the Las Vegas Army Airport for the period July l, 1946 to June 30, 1947 inclusive. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. GAMING & LIQUOR A tavern license having heretofore been granted to the Esquire Bar, 120 APPLICATION ESQUIRE South 2nd Street, to Mr. Brandhorst, provided he was a resident of the City BAR of Las Vegas and after investigation, Mr. Brandhorst was found to be a resident of North Las Vegas. Therefore, at this time, Commissioner Baskin moved that the license of the Esquire Bar at 120 South 2nd Street, be issued to Brandhorst Inc., by Mr. L. R. Schway, until such time as Mr. Brandhorst is a resident of the City of Las Vegas. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. The following liquor applications for a restaurant beverage licenses were presented to the board for their consideration. Edward Tip Rowe E. & M coffee Shop 1516 So. 5th Rest. Bev. William L. Hoops THE PICNIC 1225 So. Main Rest. Bev. Everett & Susan Chase WIMPY'S 210 Fremont Rest. Bev. New Lessee Commissioner Baskin moved that the foregoing applications be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. GAMING - NEW The following new applications for gaming licenses were presented to the board at this time: William L. Hoops THE PICNIC 1225 So. Main 2 slots Paul N. Warner OVERLAND ARCADE 4 Fremont 6 slots Boysie Ensley CLUB EBONY 501 Jackson 1 Poker Commissioner Baskin moved that the foregoing applications be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioner Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. GAMING: NEW OPERATORS The following applications from new operators at old locations for OLD LOCATIONS gaming licenses for the fourth quarter were presented to the Board at this time for their consideration: Howard Johnstone HOWARD'S SERVICE Ted Rawley TED'S ASSOCIATED Chet Hardy UNION OIL STATION George D. Lewis SHELL SERVICE Phil Rawley PHIL'S ASSOCIATED George B. Naegle GENERAL PETROLEUM C. E. Tunnell ACE HIGH GARAGE Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved that the foregoing licenses be granted for the fourth quarter. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark.
