I DATELINE: Las ?√ß n Vegas By FOREST DUKE "Crazy Horse" will be the fourth French revue to have a Vegas version ?╟÷ joining "Lido de Paris," Folies Bergere," and "Casino de Paris." Produced by Parisian star Line Renaud, who just closed as star of the Dunes "Casino de Paris" here, it will open Sept. 1 at Hotel Bonanza, where the theater is being remodeled as a copy of the original "Crazy" showroom in Paris. Miss Renaud is ?╟≤ also producing a girly.gala called "Flesh," which will run for one month before "Horse" goes to the post. . . . Jimmy Durante told Phil Harris at the Landmark: "The trouble with the younger generation is that some of us no longer belong to it!" Sonny and Cher, making their Vegas debut at Hotel Flamingo on bill with Pat Boone, are back in the show after both were ill. Comedians Corbett Monica and Jackie Kahane subbed for S & C while they were sidetracked . . Jacqueline Bisset and Jim Brown are starring in a film being shot here, "Grasshopper." Many entertainers now appearing in Vegas have been given roles in the pic . . . Bob Newhart told Shelley Berman at the Fremont: "A humorist is a fellow who originates old jokes" . . . "Bottoms Up" bosses Breck Wall and Joe Peterson inked Dick Linke to represent them in TV production. Linke, who has such shows as those of Andy Griffith, Jim Nabors, and Jerry Van Dyke, is excited about the "Bottoms Up" musicomedy which originated a decade ago in Dallas and is now a hit here at Caesars Palace. Girl watchers have discovered that miniskirted airline stewardii are in abundance nightly at the Flamingo Sky Room ... At the Sahara, Henry Youngman was telling Johnny Carson about a ride he took in a friend's small Piper Cub airplane?╟÷after taking off, the passengers were shown home movies . . . Barbra Steisand let her hair down and got many laughs at the Hank Henry Hacienda burlesque show . . . Mario Thomas and the "That Girl" TV series crew did a week of shooting here at the Sands under the approving eye of Daddy Danny . . . Richard Rodgers has given producer Fritz Holt permission to present a tab version of the Rodgers-Hart Broadway classic, "By Jupiter" in Vegas. Holt huddling with potential bookers here. At Hotel International, Dave Barry told Peggy Lee his wife is so dumb she thinks KKK is a southern automobile club . . . Canaries Timo Yuro and Suzi Adren back on their perches at Hotel Castaways and the Mint, respectively, after battles with throat ailments . . . Co-producer Breck Wall feels the early show; is the better one. We caught the second show the other Satur] | day and would have to rate both audience and performance! 100 per cent. . . While there, make your reservations ioi "Boys in the Band". Just bring your mind and your heart! both open, and you will have a most rewarding evening oi theatre .... As you pass the International Hotel, you maj note the marquee claim of LV's first legitimate theatre. Ill will be open shortly with a show as yet undisclosed . . . If "Boys" is an example of the quality of things to come! let's have a legit theatre in each hotel.... "Bottoms Up" is j ever fresh and funnier each time. Don't miss Delilah. Surely you should go through both the International and the Landmark Hotels even if you can't get in to see the show at either place .... Another must tour especially with children is Circus Circus. While there, be sure to see the "Dancing Waters". There is so much to see and do at Circus Circus, we suggest you spend the day .... Stars abound in town as always. Which you should see is a most personal matter .... If inventive, original, biting commentary, that is at the same time hilarious, is to your taste then be sure to see Jackie Gayle at the Aladdin .... If you prefer your "soul" authentic, then catch Clara Ward and her Gospel group at the Hacienda .... If you prefer "soul" that is pop flavored, see Solomon Burke and Tamiko Jones at the Sands .... If you want "soul" plus great humor, then don't miss our soul brothers, the Treniers, at the Sahara Casbar Lounge ...... This is just a starting point. Inn. 'Pzazz'70" is now open and sharply honed at the Deser! Forthose of you who are "competitive" show goers catch it if you can .j0tThe Pat Boone-Sonny and Cher pack! age at the Flaming is very entertaining and fine famib fare. So is the Phil Harris-Harry James show that openec last night at the Landmark .... Other new faces in town in elude Rosemary Clooney and Jackie Curtiss opening tonight in the Tropicana Blue Room and, a new edition of "Nudes on Ice" will take over the dinner and midnight slots at the Thunderbird tomorrow evening .... Swingers should make sure they catch Vic Damone with the Joe Parnello orchestra in the Frontier's Circle "F" Theatre as well as Steve Law- | rence with Eydie Gorme at the Sands .... Country western fans will hitch their Cougars outside the Bonanza for TV "Hee-Haw" star Buck Owens' show in the Opera House .... Go forth and enjoy. The shows are great.
