General Solicitor Union Pacific Railroad Company 422 West Sixth Street Los Angeles 14, California Dear Mr. Bennett: This is in response to your letter of February 19, 1954, referring to an amendment of the Agreement between the railroad companies and the Water District, extending the termination date of said Agreement. After having discussed the matter with Mr. Beebe, it appears to us that perhaps the be3t way of handling the matter is by the execution of a supplemental agreement extending the time for termination, We have drafted a proposed Supplemental Agreement, extending the date for giving notice of termination from December 31, 1953, to May 1, 1954. It is presently anticipated that the District will, on or before May 1st, have entered a contract for the sale of its bonds. We are enclosing herewith the original and four copies of the proposed Supplemental Agreement. We would appreciate any recommendations which you may have concerning the form or substance of this proposed Supplemental Agreement. By copy of this letter we are providing Mr. Campbell with five copies of said proposed agreement.
