June 2006 Sivan-Tammuz 5766 TEMPLE BETH SHOLOM BULLETIN for next year's Kindergarten, with a waiting list to open a second class! In just its second year of existence, the SSDS-LV has achieved its first major enrollment goal. With construction of a new facility and the continued influx of Jewish families familiar with Solomon Schechter, it will not be too long before the school closes out all of its grades. The time is now for families to get in while there is still space - families who wait until the new building is ready or until the next sibling is of age may find themselves shut out. The end of the year is also an appropriate time to look forward, and our future is bright indeed. From an enrollment standpoint, we are ahead of schedule, with a full kindergarten and positive gains across all our grades. I am also pleased to announce that we have succeeded in putting together a high-quality faculty for next year. Ms. Brenner and Ms. Stein will return in their current positions. Mrs. Gruber returns as our Second & Third Grade Jewish Studies Teacher. We are proud to introduce Tracey Greenlee as our Kindergarten General Studies Teacher. Ms. Greenlee currently serves in this position in the Temple Beth Sholom Preschool and is excited to move with Kindergarten into the Solomon Schechter. We are also proud to introduce Ornit Gordon as our new Kindergarten & First Grade Jewish Studies Teacher. Mrs. Gordon has spent the last few years as the Jewish Studies specialist in Temple Beth Sholom's Preschool and was an elementary school teacher in Israel before that. She is looking forward to her Tal AM training this summer and working closely with Mrs. Gruber. Finally, we are pleased to introduce Karen Factor as our new Third Grade General Studies Teacher. Mrs. Factor currently teaches at Merryhill Elementary and before that spent nearly ten years teaching public school in Brooklyn, New York.
