Lea Angeles * Nov. 30, 1961 4747-11-64 (Case #1214} AIRMAIL M r. W*M* Bouse - Omaha* cos Hr* Htei. Reinhardt (B) Hr. Calvin H. Cory Mr. M.H. Johnson Supplementing my letter of November 29 th relative to applies tlon of the Lee Vegas Lend end Hater Company for authority to refuse to sake further connections and referring specifically to the order of the Nevada Public Service Comal eel on granting our application ex parte and fixing a cutoff date as of December X, 1961. The order was given publicity yesterday in Las Vegas and the town folks coved in on the Governor and Hr* Allen, Chairman of the Public Service Comalasion, fiuy unfortunately happened to be in Las Vegas, and after a meeting lasting fo r into the night, the order of November £3, 1961 was rescinded*, by a telephone meeting of the Public bervlee Commission, one Commissioner being in Carson City and one In Lae Vegas. So far as I have been able to determine, the hearing will be held on January £2, 1962 but the ex parte order, In which the cut-off date set for December 1, 1961, Is now a thing of the past. 1 understand another meeting has been sailed for this evening to consider trays and means of immediate acquisition of the Hater Company. Possibly the agitation vhloh ve stirred up may have the results we hoped it would have in awakening the people to the realisation of the serioueness of the water situation in Las Vegas.
