2 Report on condition of weirs and measurements taken at various weirs is as follows: (a) Well #11 Weir pond is good and 4 ft. weir well placed. Mr. Snorf thinks pond is too big as It takes too much water to fill it. Could easily be made smaller by use of bulldozer. Very light galvanized metal used for lip of weir. Metal nailed to 2" boards. Metal not tight to boards and wood at lower side of metal was very uneven and obstructed the flow of water. Before measurement was taken had wood obstruction removed from the lower side of weir lip. Found lip of 4-ft, weir to be level and at same elevation as measuring peg which was located about 6 ft. distant. Flow over weir was measured as 3-3/4" as compared with record measurement of 4-1/8" as of July 30, 1947. Discharge from this well to weir pond was made through wooden box attached to 12* valve at well. Water flowed through box to ground, thence through ditch to weir pond. This wooden box is a very poor arrangement as it leaks badly and should be replaced with metal pipe. Well #10 This well has a good weir pond. Weir Itself is made of very light galvanized metal and nailed to 2" boards. Measurement at lip of metal was 4' 0—1/8" at the bottom and 4* 0-1/16" at the top. Measuring peg was found to be .036 ft. higher than lip of weir. After peg was corrected, measurement of water over weir, 4-5/8" as compared to record measurement of 4-1/2" on July 30th. Well #9 Prior to this date this well has been weired through wooden box constructed several years ago which has.a 2-ft. weir opening. Found.the netaX lip of weir opening to be hanging loose on two nails which X had removed and metal opening ^ fastened with screws. Had survey party set tip of measuring hook at same level as weir lip. This box leaks very badly and it was impossible to get an acourate measurement of flow over weir. However, it measured 4£" with an estimated leakage of 1/8", making a total of 4-5/8" as compared to record measure ment of 5" as of July 30th. This well has no weir pond and weir box is no good. Well #8 This well discharges into wooden box, thence onto the ground into pond which was practically filled to lip of weir with silt. Lip of weir measures 3’ 11-5/8", Measuring peg was found to be .018 ft. lower than lip of weir. Weir opening
