Their friendliness and good service compliments "America's Greatest Show" and is a major reason the show has drawn close to 6 million people. * It is estimated that after 6,000 shows, the showroom crew has served approximately ......3 million dinners and over ....18 million drinks. SOUND DEPARTMENT The Sound Department plays a very important role in the success of the show as good sound and proper communications are very important ingredients. Gary Ponto and his crew not only mix the show, they provide a sound technician for the Lion's Den, and service all the radios, intercoms, and audio equipment. * The Sound Console can mix up to.....34 inputs into ..5 out- going lines and can expand the input capabilities considerably with pre-mix feeds. The Console runs a 3-Channel stereo to the Showroom through an array of....36 large speakers that are arranged in different clusters. * The show uses ..9 wireless microphones,..3 wired microphones, and approximately... 30 microphones in the Band Room . * The Sound mixer at the Console runs ..8 reels of tape per show through (2) Scully Recorders (one is for backup). Over ...4 miles of tape run through these recorders each show, after 6,000 shows, over....24>000 miles of tape have been run. STAGE CREWS (LEFT & RIGHT) . Because of the size of the stage and the crews, the stage crew is divided into Stage Left and Stage Right. The Stage Left crew is supervised by Jeff Coonce and I supervise the Stage Right crew. The crews combined are responsible for over 1,000 cues per show and maintain the operation and condition of more than 50 pieces of scenery..-
